Whether and where you may vape at work is set by your employer. In practice it works best in the breaks and in the place the company provides for it. At a desk and in meeting rooms vapour and smell disturb the others, even when both are mild. Ask once how it is handled at your company and then you do not have to guess.
What do you clear up at the company and what is down to you?
The employer makes the rules, you bring the consideration. The table separates the two. We cannot say from the outside what applies at your company. It is in the house rules, in a works agreement, or you hear it from your manager. The notes about the device apply to every range at RandM Vape Shop (randmvape.shop).
| Topic | Who decides | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Whether and where vaping happens | the employer | ask and stick to it |
| Breaks | the employer | vape in the breaks |
| Charging at the workplace | the employer | ask, otherwise charge at home |
| Consideration for others | you | keep your distance, not in closed rooms |
Why should you not just vape at your desk?
Because you are not alone. Vapour is visible and smells of the flavor while vaping is going on and shortly afterwards. In small, closed rooms it builds up quickly. On top of that come smoke detectors, which can react to dense vapour. What people notice about vapour in a room is explained in the article Can you smell a RandM vape in a room?
How do you get through the working day on the battery?
Charge in the evening or in the morning before you set off. A full charge usually takes about an hour. You can see the battery level in the display. That way you have to charge at work less often. If you do want to charge there, ask first and do not leave the device unattended. The rules for charging are in the Instructions.
Where do you keep the vape during work?
In your bag or in a drawer, not on a sunny windowsill and not in the car in the car park. Heat is hard on the battery and the liquid. In winter you carry the device to work in an inside pocket so that it does not get cold. Put it down somewhere nobody pockets it by accident or knocks it off.
Which range suits being out and about and the break?
That depends on how much you use, not on the workplace. To start with or as a second device, 12,000 to 15,000 puffs are enough. Anyone vaping daily gets further with 20,000 to 25,000. You find every range under Disposable vapes and in the overview of the RandM Tornado models.
Where does an empty device go at the office?
Not in the waste paper bin. Even an empty device contains a lithium battery and does not belong in household waste. Take it with you and hand it in at a collection point for electrical devices. Do not open it to dispose of the battery separately. How handing it in works is in the article Disposing of a disposable vape.
Frequently asked questions
May I vape at my workplace?
Your employer sets that. Ask how it is handled at your company.
Can colleagues smell the vapour?
While vaping is going on and shortly afterwards, yes. The vapour smells mildly of the flavor.
Can I charge the vape at my work computer?
Technically any USB port with a USB-C cable is enough. Whether you are allowed to, you clear up at the company. Do not charge unattended.
Can the vape set off a smoke detector in the office?
That can happen. Many smoke detectors react to fine particles in the air, dense vapour included.
