Three of the seven mistakes with a new disposable vape happen in the first few minutes: drawing straight away, forgetting the silicone plug and drawing too hard. On top of that come four mistakes in how you hold it, how you charge it, how you choose and how you check it is genuine. All seven can be avoided with little effort. The most important piece of advice: let a new device stand upright for ten minutes before you draw for the first time.
Which seven mistakes are they?
Three at the start, two in use and two when buying. The table shows each mistake with what it causes and the better way. The first five come from our instructions, the last two from what we recommend as a dealer at RandM Vape Shop (randmvape.shop). They apply to all eight ranges.
| Mistake | What it causes | Better |
|---|---|---|
| Drawing right after unboxing | the cotton burns, the taste stays burnt | let it stand upright for ten minutes |
| Not removing the silicone plug | no vapour | tilt the device sideways, pull the plug off |
| Drawing too long, too hard, too often | burnt taste, liquid in your mouth or flashing | draw short and loose, leave breaks |
| Holding the device upright | liquid in your mouth | hold it level |
| Running the battery flat or charging overnight | the battery suffers | charge in time, unplug the cable when it is full |
| Going straight for the largest range | a long commitment to a flavor that may not suit you | start with 12,000 or 15,000 puffs |
| Not checking the security code | you do not know whether the device is an original | check the code before the first puff, keep the packaging |
Why is the first puff so decisive?
Because the cotton inside the device needs time to soak up liquid. If you draw straight away, you heat the coil against dry cotton. It burns. After that the device tastes burnt for good. There is no undoing it. Ten minutes of patience prevent it. The five steps from unboxing to the first puff are in the Instructions.
How do you draw properly?
Short, loose and level. All our ranges are built for mouth to lung. You draw the vapour into your mouth and then breathe it in. Start with five to ten gentle puffs. Leave a few seconds between puffs so the cotton can soak up again. What happens when it cannot keep up is in the article on why a vape tastes burnt.
What do beginners get wrong when charging?
They wait too long or charge too long. Deep discharge harms the battery, and leaving it on the mains shortens its life. Charge it when the battery level in the display gets low. A full charge usually takes about an hour. Unplug the cable then. A powerful adapter brings nothing, any ordinary USB-C cable fits.
Which range and which flavor are the safe way in?
A small range and a fruity flavor. With 12,000 or 15,000 puffs you are through after a few weeks and can switch. Very sweet or unusual flavors are better tried later. The smallest range with us is the Fumot Digital Box 12000. More on the first purchase is in the article Buying your first vape.
Why should you check the code before the first puff?
Because only with an original do you know what is inside the device. The security code is on the packaging and can only be checked once. Keep the packaging for as long as you use the device. If the security label is damaged or the check fails, do not use the device. The steps are in the Authenticity check. You find every range under Disposable vapes.
Frequently asked questions
Which mistake do you avoid first with a new vape?
Drawing straight away. The cotton has not soaked up any liquid yet and burns.
Can I get rid of a burnt taste again?
If it comes from puffs that were too quick, a break helps. Once the cotton is burnt, it stays.
Do I have to charge a new device first?
Look at the battery level in the display. If it is low, charge it.
What do I do if something is still not right?
Write to us with a photo or a short video. You should not open or repair the device.
