Whether you may vape in a hotel room is set by the hotel. Ask at reception before you do. Watch two things in the room: dense vapour can set off a smoke detector, and the device does not belong at the socket unattended while charging. On the balcony and outdoors the hotel’s house rules apply as well.
What do you watch out for in a hotel room?

Why does a smoke detector react to vapour?
Because many smoke detectors detect fine particles in the air and do not tell smoke and dense vapour apart. In a small, closed room vapour builds up quickly. A hotel bathroom is the typical example. If the detector goes off, there is an alarm, even though nothing has burned. So keep your distance from the detector.

How do you best ask?
Directly and before the first puff. Ask whether vaping is possible in the room, on the balcony or only in a particular area. The answer costs a minute. If your booking says non-smoking room, ask explicitly whether that covers vaping too. Then you know it first hand and do not have to guess.
How do you charge the vape in a hotel?
The same as at home. Any ordinary USB-C cable fits and a full charge usually takes about an hour. Only charge while you are in the room. Unplug the cable as soon as the device is full. Do not leave it on the mains overnight and not lying on the bed. The rules are in the Instructions.
How does the device get to the hotel safely?
In hand luggage or in a bag, protected from pressure and heat. On a flight the airline sets how you carry the device. With most, a vape belongs in hand luggage and not in checked baggage, and you are not allowed to use it on board. More on that is in the article Holiday with a vape.
Where does an empty device go in a hotel?
Not in the waste bin in the room. Even an empty device contains a lithium battery. Take it home with you and hand it in there, or ask at reception for a collection point.
