For a holiday you clear up three things before you pack: what the airline says about hand luggage, what applies to vapes in the destination country and how you charge on the road. With most airlines a vape belongs in hand luggage and not in checked baggage, and you are not allowed to use it on board. Whether you may bring it and use it at your destination is set by that country. Ask both before you travel.

What do you clear up before you leave and with whom?

Several questions with several places. We do not tell you what applies where, because every airline and every country sets that itself and the rules change. The table shows who to ask. Allow a few days before you leave, so there is time to repack or to leave the device at home.

Question Who answers it
Hand luggage or suitcase, how many devices the airline
What applies at the security check the airport and the airline
Bringing and using it in the destination country the authorities or the embassy of that country
Vaping in your accommodation the hotel or the landlord

How does the vape get on the plane?

Your airline sets that. With most, a vape belongs in hand luggage and not in checked baggage, and you are not allowed to use it on board. Ask your airline before the flight and there will be no surprise at the check. Protect the device from pressure in your hand luggage.

What applies in the destination country?

That differs from country to country and we cannot say it reliably from here. Ask the authorities or the embassy of the destination country before you travel. Do not rely on travel forums. If something applies at your destination that you cannot meet, the device stays at home.

How do you charge on the road?

With a USB-C cable and the adapter you carry for your phone anyway. Any ordinary USB-C cable fits and a full charge usually takes about an hour. In some countries you need an adapter for the socket. Do not charge overnight and not unattended, not even in a hotel. The rules are in the Instructions.

Which range do you take with you?

One whose runtime fits the trip. At 300 puffs a day a Fumot Digital Box 12000 lasts about 40 days on paper, which is enough for most holidays. If you want to switch between flavors on the road, take an Eco range with several flavors instead of several devices. At RandM Vape Shop (randmvape.shop) you find every range under Disposable vapes and in the overview of the RandM Tornado models.

What do you watch out for at your destination?

Heat, sand and water. Do not leave the device in the sun, in the hire car or at the pool. Carry it in its own bag. Whether you may vape in your accommodation is for the hotel to tell you. More on that is in the articles Vaping in a hotel and Vape at the beach.

Where does the empty device go while travelling?

Not in the bin. Even an empty device contains a lithium battery. Ask at your accommodation for a collection point for electrical devices. For the flight home with an empty device, what your airline sets for devices with a battery applies again. How handing it in works at home is in the article Disposing of a disposable vape.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take a vape on a plane?

Your airline sets that. With most, a vape belongs in hand luggage and not in checked baggage, and you are not allowed to use it on board. Ask before the flight.

Can I buy another RandM vape in the country I travel to?

We cannot promise that. We deliver to Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Czechia. Take what you need with you.

How many devices may I take?

The airline and the destination country decide that. Ask before you travel.

Does a vape leak on a plane?

We have not tested that. After landing, hold the device level for the first puff and draw gently. If liquid comes out, wipe it off.
